Prospects for Taicang Port

Pursuant to the general planning, Taicang Port will have 172 productive berths including 82 berths capable of accommodating 10,000DWT vessels (48 container berths). Its design cargo throughput will reach 282 million tons and design container throughput will be 21 million TEUs per annum. Guided by these grand objectives, Taicang Port will implement the strategy of expansion and opening-up, region-port interaction and port rejuvenation by science and technology. By multi-channel investment, the port operator will speed up construction of container-focused port facilities, build up a general platform combining bonded logistics, port logistics information and E-business and set up efficient port service and management so as to achieve balance between port scale expansion and its functions and realize our dream of No.1 Foreign Trade Port of Jiangsu Province and the trunk line port in northern wing of Shanghai International Shipping Center.
